FACTOIDS & TRIVIA

Players and collectors consider the Model 5E3 Deluxe amp to be the best sounding Deluxe ever produced by Fender. This amp has been a staple piece of equipment for most blues guitarists. Introduced in 1955, it is often referred to as the "narrow panel" Deluxe since frame around the grill was much narrower compared to the wider panels used on the pre-1955 models. The circuit in this amp was the last and most refined of all the tweed Deluxes. The tweed covering used by Fender from 1948 to 1960 was actually a linen cloth used to cover suitcases in the 1930s, 40s and 50s. However, it was not very durable and most tweed covered amps look a bit tattered, but this adds to their charm.
