FACTOIDS & TRIVIA

This is an example of the ultra rare variant of the ASAT III fitted with vibrato tailpiece. The plastic pickguard is unusual as they were generally used up by 1988. Even more unusual is the candy apple red finish. G&L offered this finish from 1980-83, dropped it in 1984, and then offered it again in 1988-89. It was not available again until 1992 and currently remains a standard finish. G&L guitars and basses made in 1988-89 that are finished in candy apple red are scarce.
