FACTOIDS & TRIVIA

Maple was the most common body wood for the student model SB-series basses, but is not often found on professional models such as the L-2000. During the 1989-90 time period, G&L sometimes used maple for bodies on the pro model guitars and basses such as the L-2000 bass shown here. Another interesting feature is the front-loaded controls. By 1989, rear-loaded controls were standard on the L-2000, but front-loaders occasionally made it out of the factory, usually as a special order. This particular bass was also fitted with the L-2000E-type circuit that is preferred by many players.
