FACTOIDS & TRIVIA

The ASAT Classic III was the first model produced in the G&L Custom Creations Department (CCD) which was founded  June 15, 1998.  The CCD produces limited edition instruments which embody distinctive tonal and visual characteristics that separate these instruments from G&L’s regular line of instruments.  The instruments produced by the CCD are hand-made by a select team of G&L’s most experienced craftsmen.  With its bound sunburst body, the ASAT Classic III takes its vintage cues from the early 1960s Fender Telecaster Custom.  Unlike the Fender, the G&L has high output Magnetic Field Design pickups.  The middle pickup is standard ASAT Classic neck unit that has been reverse-wound for hum cancelling when combined with either the neck or bridge pickup.  Only 100 ASAT Classic III’s were made.
