FACTOIDS & TRIVIA

G&L introduced the ASAT Classic with a semi-hollow body in 1997. However, the semi-hollow model is only available with an ash body. The guitar shown here was custom-made specifically for me with a mahogany body. It's a tip 'o the hat to the mahogany Fender Telecaster Thinline of 1968-71. The G&L is constructed differently from the Fender. The hollow portions of the ASAT Classic's body are routed out from the top and a separate top is glued on the body. The Fender's hollow portions are routed out from the back and separate back is glued to the body. Besides the mahogany body, a nifty feature that G&L introduced in 1998 on all ASAT Classics is the brass bridge saddles. Prior to 1998 the Classics used steel saddles.
