One of the original names under consideration for Leo's new Telecaster-style guitar was LaCaster or LeCaster.  This is an example of a prototype for that model name dated May 1985 which was the first month of production for the Broadcaster.  Interestingly, there is LeCaster decal headstock logo under the LaCaster decal.  It appears that G&L applied the LeCaster decal with a small G&L logo, and rather than using a new neck, simply sprayed black finish over the existing decal and applied the LeCaster decal with normal size G&L logo.
