FACTOIDS & TRIVIA

Like the Jet model, the R-12-R underwent several changes to its circuit during the 1960s. As with the Jet, each circuit modification yielded a slightly different sound, but all Reverberockets have that classic Ampeg tone, i.e. clean and bright. At 15 watts with on-board reverb and tremolo, the Reverberocket could be used for practice, gigs in small venues, or for studio work. In fact, thanks to its clean sound and lush reverb, the Reverberocket has become a favorite amp of modern surf guitarists. The Reverberocket shown here has the “T” circuit (late 1964-65) that was transitional between the “B” circuit (late 1963-64) and the GS-12-R Reverberocket II (late 1965-70).
