FACTOIDS & TRIVIA

The Super Reverb was the most popular multi-speaker amp that Fender produced in the 1960s. It was clear to Leo Fender that guitarists liked a 4x10 speaker configuration since they were using the 4x10 Fender Bassman of the 1950s so frequently. He offered another 4x10 amp, the Concert, beginning in 1960, but most guitarists complained that it lacked the gain of the Bassman. Enter the Super Reverb introduced in late 1963. The Super Reverb has the gain of the Bassman, albeit using a different circuit, and has the added feature of on-board reverb and tremolo. It has been a favorite amp of blues and rock guitarists for many years and, along with the Twin Reverb, is probably one of the most popular Fender combo amps of all times.
